Account Minimum

Separately managed accounts have a minimum investment requirement that is referred to as the account minimum. Account minimums generally range from $50,000 to $100,000 but can be higher or lower. Account minimums are established to ensure that both a broader group of investors can take advantage of the product and that the investment is large enough to meet the product’s various objectives.

Asset Allocation

Asset allocation refers to the process of dividing an investment portfolio’s holdings among asset categories, such as fixed-income, equity and cash. Asset allocation is performed to optimize the risk/reward tradeoff based on an individual's or institution's specific situation and goals.

Asset Classifications

Asset classifications refer to the type of investments that are targeted by an asset manager in adhering to its investment style. Examples of asset classifications include: Large Cap Core, Mid Cap Growth, Small Cap Value, Taxable Fixed-income, et al.
